Moniuszko's Phantoms premieres at the Wrocław Opera
The exact date when Moniuszko wrote his Phantoms remains unclear. The somewhat forgotten cantata is a musical illustration of Adam Mickiewicz's drama Forefathers' Eve. Part II. Along with many songs and ballads, the piece is another example of Moniuszko's fascination with the poetry of the Polish Romantic bard. The piece is dedicated to Maria Kalergrs, a student of Fryderyk Chopin and great promoter of Polish art.
Moniuszko's Phantoms opens in Wrocałw on 6 and 7 March 2019. The premiere's partner is the Grotowski Institute, Wrocałw.
